“O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth forever. O give thanks to the Lord of lords; for his mercy endureth forever. To him alone doeth great wonders; for his mercury endureth forever. “Psalms 136: 1- 4
The officers and members of Los Angeles County District wish everyone a Blessed Thanksgiving! Acting President Lydia Shirley Reporter Diana Harrison
“In the beginning God Created the Heaven and the Earth.” Genesis 1:1
God created a man, a man who had a vision. On November 10, 1976, in the exquisite sanctuary of Antioch Baptist Church of Los Angeles, California, a dynamic pioneer of ushering organized and initiated the LA County District. He later became President of Los Angeles County District. This man was the Late Jessie Walker, a member of New Mount Calvary Baptist Church. The record had reflected that the District name was United Church Ushers of Los Angeles, California and Vicinity for 16 years and later changed to Los Angeles County District. With the vision of the Late Jessie Walker, he saw a need to have ushers work together in a Christian manner, and to become knowledgeable in ushering techniques and to become better educated in church ushering and to fellowship harmoniously.
